Ralph W. Herr, 86, of Upper Fairfield Twp., died Oct. 7, 2018 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Coal Twp., a son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Fetterman) Herr.
Ralph graduated from Coal Twp. High School and then worked for Quaker State Phone Service before starting and running Herr T.V. and Herr Cable Co. He was a member of Eugene Grafius American Legion Post 104 and The Wheel Inn. He enjoyed his annual company picnic with friends at the hollow, enjoyed hunting, and was a farmer at heart.
In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were a son, Barry W. Herr; two brothers, Glen and Barry A., and a sister, Sandra.
Surviving him are his wife of 66 years, the former Rita Rogers; a son, Brian (Annette) Herr, of Montoursville; two daughters, Cindy (Scott) Enck, of New Ringold and Valerie (Bruce) Sims, of Montoursville; two brothers, Alden "Oops" Herr, of Paxinos and Ronald (Doretta) Herr, of Danville; a sister, Melony Herr, of Shamokin; seven grandchildren, Miranda (Nate) Saxton, Charity (Jonathon) Uldrikis, Amy (James) Eades, Logan (Chelsea) Davis, Brianna, Kayla, and Zachary Herr, and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with Rev. Michael S. McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Family and friends will be received for a viewing from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the funeral home.
