Richard S. Scaife, 89, of Williamsport, died March 1, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Montoursville, the son of the late Edgar W. and Louella I. (Hessler) Scaife.
Richard worked for Centre Concrete for 22 years, and Canada Dry Bottling Co. for 16 years before retiring. He entered the military and served during the Korean War in the Army. He belonged to the Eugene Grafius American Legion Post #104, the Eagles Club #970, and the Teamster’s Local #764.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, the former Barbara May Brown; a granddaughter, Patricia Dailey; a brother, Robert “Sonny” Scaife; and sisters, Joanne “Tiny” Shadduck and Doris Brown.
Surviving is his son, Richard S. Scaife; four daughters, Mary (Kevin) Wheaton, Beverly (Larry) Hamm, Ann (Richard) Dailey, and Linda Scaife; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. Burial will follow in Barbours Cemetery.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
