Virginia K. Wentzler, 93, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Montoursville, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at The Gatehouse. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl L. (Dutch) Wentzler on September 28, 2002.
Born July 10, 1926, in Williamsport, Virginia was the daughter of the late M. Robb and Frances (Entz) Keyte, Sr. She was a graduate of Montoursville High School and the Williamsport Dickinson Junior College. She was a member of the former Patriotic Order of America, the Montoursville Garden Club, and served as Judge of Elections for Upper Fairfield Township for many years. A lifelong member of Farragut-Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Virginia was active in the United Methodist Women, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. She played a major role in organizing the church’s annual Chicken and Waffle Supper.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by daughter Suzanne Williams (Charles), and son Carl R. Wentzler (Teresa), sisters Elizabeth Wentzler and Jane Landon, as well as grandchildren Amy Messersmith (Dan), Matthew Coffman (Chris), Lauren Fotiades (Rich), Kristen Connell (Scott), Jordan Williams (Katie), and Bryan Williams. There are five great- grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, Allison, Matthew, and Cameron. She was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Coffman, granddaughter Megan Williams, and brother M. Robb Keyte, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, followed by a luncheon, at Farragut-Mt. Zion UMC, 45 St. Rt. 864, Montoursville. Visitation with the family will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Farragut-Mt. Zion UMC Music Fund.
