William D. Baker, 78, of Cogan Station, died on May 2, 2019, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
He was born on December 6, 1940, in Williamsport, the son of the late Ernest and Kathryn Schoffstall Baker.
William worked as a truck driver at Roland and Roland where he later retired from. He was also a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, Christmas displays, and train platforms.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Patricia and his brother, Dean.
Surviving is his wife of six years, the former Judy M. Hafer; children, Crystal M. (Kell) Gottschall, of South Williamsport, Rodney A. (Janet) Baker, of Cogan Station, and Rich W. (Jill) Baker, of Cogan Station; stepchildren, Marilyn Summers, of Jersey Shore, and Paul Summers, of Williamsport; a brother, Robert (Clara) Baker, of Nisbet; three sisters, Susan (Jack) Furman, of Cogan Station, Bonnie Bunce, of Montoursville, and Kathy (Max) Furman, of Elimsport; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Spitler Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Reagan officiating, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. The viewing for family and friends will be one hour before the service from 10-11am. Burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery.
