Ada M. Schick, 96, of Loyalsock Township, passed away on November 4, 2021, at The Williamsport Home.
She was born February 24, 1925, in Jersey Shore, daughter of the late George R. and Margaret (Steppe) Hill.
In 1944, she entered nurses training at the Williamsport Hospital where she was part of the Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. She graduated training in 1947 and worked in the hospital as a registered nurse for 19 years. After receiving a B.S. from Bloomsburg State College, she continued her career as a school nurse for 21 years in the Loyalsock Township School District.
Upon retirement, she was happy to have more time to devote to her beloved rose garden as well as to her oil colors and brushes.
She was a member of Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church and was also was a member of the Montoursville Garden Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Marian B. Sartor, and her husband, Donald E. Schick.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Pearl, of Bound Brook, NJ.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. A burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery. There will be a viewing for family and friends on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
