Christie W. Rager

June 4, 1942 ~ October 19, 2020 (age 78)


Christie “Chris” W. Rager, 78, of Montoursville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2020.

Chris was born on June 4, 1942 in Williamsport, the son of Dorothy M. (Breon) Rager and Christian A. Rager. He attended Montoursville High School and upon graduation in 1960, he entered the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge from the Air Force in 1965 at the rank of E5, Chris attended Williamsport Area Community College and earned a degree in computer science. After college, he was employed by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N.Y. In 1970 he returned to the area and was employed by the Williamsport National Bank where he retired as Vice President in 2005.

An avid golfer, Chris was once a member of the White Deer Golf Course and most recently a member of the Wynding Brook Golf Club, in Milton. He loved playing golf with all his golf buddies and going on golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Ocean City.

Chris was affiliated with the Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville and is currently a member of the First Church in Williamsport.

He was married March 11, 1972, to the former Linda K. Phillips. Together, Chris and Linda celebrated 48 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara L. Burke of Montoursville.

In addition to his wife, Chris is survived by his sister, Roxalene “Roxie” Lundy, of Montoursville. Also surviving are two daughters; Kristin L. Bastian (Michael) of Williamsport, and Elizabeth A. Dincher (TJ), Cogan Station. Chris was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Logan and Adelyn Bastian and Peyton and Nicholas Dincher. He was so very proud of his family. He loved them all very much.

The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
