Obituary

Darri Ruset Horne Bailey, 62, of Trout Run, passed away at home on April 22, 2022.

She was born on June 6, 1959, in Williamsport, daughter of Russell Horne and the late Doris “Boden” Horne.  To everyone it was D Day but within the Horne family it was also Darri Day.

Darri was a 1977 graduate of Williamsport High School where she was involved in cheerleading and everything else involving fun. If anyone was laughing, she was in the middle of it. She was also a graduate from the University of Phoenix with honors. She was a member of the New Covenant United Church of Christ.

Darri loved being a mom and was very involved in her son’s life. Darri was extremely proud of Tristin graduating from Virginia Tech and commissioning into the Army, fulfilling his dream to serve his country. Throughout her life Darri worked at Pearl Vision Center for 24 plus years, Susquehanna Health System as a secretary for the work center and physical therapy at Divine Providence Hospital and River Avenue for 10 years, and then became a caregiver for the elderly.

Darri is survived by her husband of 29 years of marriage and 39 years together, David S. Bailey, Jr.; a son, 1st Lieutenant Tristin D. Bailey; father, Russell J. Horne; brothers, Lonny J. Horne (Shelby Mulberger) of Trout Run, and Tracy V. Horne (Karen) of Linden; father-in-law, D. Sid Bailey; mother-in-law, Margaret Huyck; sister-in-law, Heidie Huyck; step-brothers of David’s, Michael (Karen) Dugan, Christopher (Missy) Dugan; sister-in-law, Beth Dugan; three nephews, Kevin Horne, Ryan Horne, and Robbie Mulberger; two nieces Meagan Horne and Erica Mulberger; and many step nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Randy W. Horne and her mother, Doris R. Horne and David’s stepbrother Jeffrey Dugan. One of her greatest joys in life besides her family was her four-legged friends and she is survived by Astro.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
