He served two tours in Vietnam where he was a supply officer providing supplies for the front lines in various villages throughout the country. Upon his return to State College, he was employed as office manager at Whitehill Lighting and Supplies. Following Whitehill, he founded and operated Lyco Lighting and Supplies in downtown Williamsport until selling the business due to his declining physical health. Following the sale of Lyco, he started an online retail business which he owned and operated for over 20 years before retiring.
Dennis was a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of John F. Dennis was an engineer. He created countless new products and processes that helped him overcome and accomplish obstacles he faced in his 47 years of living with Multiple Sclerosis. He loved learning and researching about nature, history, the ancient world, how things are made and his cherished Ream genealogy. However, his greatest love was his family to whom he courageously dedicated his life.
