Obituary

Doris M. Pittenger, 91, of Eldred Township, passed away on June 5, 2022, at Valley View Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family and went to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was born June 23, 1930, in Williamsport, daughter of William H. and Mae (Mutchler) Dunlap.

Doris was a member of Loyalsock Baptist Church where her husband served for 30 years. She played piano, taught Sunday school, Bible school, and special singing. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John W. Pittenger; daughter, Lori; two brothers, William and Lee Dunlap.

She is survived by a son, John D. Pittenger of Montoursville; daughters, Sharon (Gary) Glace of Montoursville, Gayle (Ron) Tenerovich of Montoursville, and Christine (Jim) Lorenzo of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Eric Glace, Ranae Savidge, Todd Glace, Frank Tenerovich, Jennifer Young, John Jr. and Richard Pittenger, and Michael and Emily Lorenzo; and 14 great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, PA 17754 with Pastor Ben W. Hubbell officiating. A burial in Montoursville Cemetery will follow. A viewing for family and friends will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
