Francis G. Poeth, 95, of the Williamsport Home, joined his beloved wife Betty in God’s Holy Kingdom on July 10, 2021.
Francis “Fritz” was born in West Milton on October 4, 1925, son of the late William and Grace Poeth.
Francis graduated from Milton High School in 1943 and joined what was then the Army Air Forces, where he served as a turret gunner. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he attended on the GI bill and graduated from Lycoming College with an accounting degree.
In 1952 he married the love of his life, Betty Becher, who predeceased him in 2015.
Francis was employed as the business manager and school board secretary of South Williamsport School District for over 25 years. He enjoyed being active in the community, and was a loyal member of the South Williamsport Lions Club as the treasurer for many years. A devoted Christian, Francis was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville, he served on church council, was the treasurer of the church, an usher, and a bible study and Sunday school member. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time with his friends and family, in particular, the grandkids!
Surviving are his daughter, Elaine (Larry) Dietrich, of Winfield; son, Mark (Carol) Poeth, of Montoursville; six grandchildren, Taylor and Kyle Dietrich, Jillian Boser, Casey and Matthew Poeth, and Lauren Quinty; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Rowe, of Montandon.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Twin Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Robert McKensie officiating.

Once again, the family would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the amazing people at the Williamsport Home who took such wonderful care of our father and grandfather.
