George W. Haas, Jr., 97, of Fairfield Township, passed away July 4, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center.
He was born October 1, 1922, in Shamokin, the son of the late George W. and Myrtle (Gilham) Haas, Sr.
George retired from the former Bethleem Steel. He was a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church. He was an avid bowler and bowled in National Tournaments, enjoyed gardening and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, the former Ruth Merrill Gingery; two sisters, Jean Cohick and Muriel Lundy; and one step grandson, Mike Gingery.
He is survived by his step son, Ronald (Pam) Gingery; and three step grandsons, David, Brandon and Adley.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2020, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville. A graveside service will follow in Montoursville Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. David W. Trostle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church c/o Jan Smith, 550 Halltown Road, Montoursville, PA 17754.
