Guy Bruce Hocker, 75, of Bellefonte, passed away on August 5, 2020, at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.
He was born May 31, 1945, in Williamsport, the son of the late Guy G. and Martha E. (Wheeland) Hocker.
Bruce is a 1963 graduate of Montoursville High School. He is a Vietnam War veteran having served in the Air Force. He then joined the PA State Police having his career span from 1969 to 1992 mostly serving at the Milesburg Station. He then worked for Brinks Security. He was also a sheriff deputy at the Centre County Courthouse. He enjoyed car racing and the N.H.R.A.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Evangeline “Cookie” R. Eckstrom; daughter, Jodi L. (Bendan) McGuire, of Glendale, AZ; and sister, Ann Hocker, of Montoursville.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 11:15 a.m. in Montoursville Cemetery with Rev. Larry Leland officiating. A visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville, PA 17754.
Due to recent Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required at the visitation and graveside service to help insure the health and safety of those in attendance.
