Harold F. Adams, 95, of Montoursville, died on February 10, 2021, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport, due to complications from Covid-19.
He was born on November 26, 1925, in Williamsport, the son of William and Mae (Johnson) Adams.
Harold was a United States Navy combat veteran and served in World War II Pacific Theater, he served on the landing craft tank with amphibious forces in liberation of the Philippines and the occupation forces in Japan, his rank was electrician’s mate 2nd class. He was a foreman and industrial engineer at the former GTE Sylvania where he retired after 38 years, served as past president of the Local Chapter of American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers 1965, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church where he served as an usher, and Eugene Grafius Post 104 American Legion. Harold played the saxophone in dance bands through the 50’s and 60’s in local clubs and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandsons, brothers, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, the former C. Louise Slattery; and six siblings.
Surviving are two sons, David S. (Terri) Adams, of Montoursville; and Richard E. Adams, of Montoursville; a daughter, Linda S. (Daniel) Wright, of Montoursville; brother, Frank (Betty) Adams, of Cogan Station; four grandchildren, Ashley Adams (Lucas) Taylor, Brian (Katie) Wright, Gregory (Sarah) Wright, and Ambrose Campana; and two great-grandchildren, Joanna and Evelyn Mae Wright.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, February 15, 2021, 12:00 p.m. in Montoursville Cemetery with Rev. Michael S. McCormick officiating.
There will be a walk-through viewing on Monday, 10:30-11:30 a.m., at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, PA 17754.
Following Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required.
