Howard W. Schriner

August 12, 1933 ~ November 1, 2021 (age 88)


Howard W. Schriner, 88, of Eldred Township passed away on November 1, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna.

Born August 12, 1933, he was the son of the late Rollyn and Mabel Schriner. 

He was a graduate of Montoursville High School. In his early life, he was a dairy farmer in Eldred Township and then shifted to custom home building when he co-founded Schriner and Coleman Inc. and then later created his own business Howard Schriner Builder.  

In his younger years he coached Little League Baseball. He was the founder, past president and lifetime member of the Lick Run Hunting Club. He was also the past president of the Warrensville Lions Club. He was a member of the West Branch Builders Association and a member of the Lycoming County Conservation District.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Greenaway and predeceased by his late wife Evelyn Waltz.

Surviving are his four children.  Cindy Belles (Terry) of Cogan Station, Steve Schriner (Terry) of Ulster, Tim Schriner (Karen) of Williamsport and Cheryl Schriner of Camp Hill.  He was the proud grandfather of Tracey Ulmer, Jackie Geiger, Laurie Balderston, Amanda Gill,  Todd Belles, Andrea Baney, Jon Schriner and Emily VanDyke and great grandfather to Brandon, Austin, Bailey, Seanna, Brooke, Colton, Grant, George, Isaac, Alex, Brett, Boyd, Sadie and Heidi.

He is survived by his sister Beverly Blanke and brother Paul Schriner and predeceased by his sisters Mary Wheeland and Helen Gehr.

Howard attended Community Baptist Church and his family takes comfort in knowing he went home to be with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 20th at 11 am at the Community Baptist Church 1853 PA-87, Montoursville, PA 17754.

In lieu of flowers his family suggests contributions be made to the Howard Schriner Residential Construction Memorial Scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology, C/O the Penn College Foundation, 1 College Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.”
