John Emmett Young, 72, of Bedford, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly while visiting Pennsylvania for an annual family reunion.
He was born December 18, 1949 in Hackensack, New Jersey, son of Louis E. and Jean L. (Lappley) Young.
John graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in Virginia, and Lycoming College in 1973 where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was very active during his college years, founding the local campus radio station, organizing campus rock concerts, and serving as a fraternity advisor. After relocating to New Hampshire in 1985, he founded Stirling & Young, an information management interoperability solutions company with offices in the U.S. and Europe. John served as a trustee for many years and later as vice-president of the board at The Greenwood School in Putney, Vermont.
