We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Spitler Funeral Home, Inc.
Marion S. Waldeisen, 89, of Loyalsock Township, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 at Williamsport Hospital with her loving daughter and one of her biggest fans at her side.
She was born September 12, 1932 in Williamsport, daughter of Frederick J. and Ida S. (Straub) Stroehmann.
She was strong in faith and was a member of St Mark’s Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir in her younger years. She graduated from Williamsport High School and Gettysburg College, after which she worked as a social worker until raising her children took precedence. She was also very involved in the Junior League and was recognized as AAUW Woman of the Year. While in college, she was in a Delta Gamma sorority where she formed friendships to last into the years to come. Her loving, friendly, and appreciative demeanor was acknowledged by all… health care workers, family and friends. Her quick wit, belly laughter and genuine smile would make you feel good. She was so loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William R. Waldeisen, Jr; two sisters, Katherine S. Crane and Carol S. McMorris; and brother, Frederick G. Stroehmann.
She is survived by her children, W. Robert (Barbara) Waldeisen of State College, Mark F. (Patti) Waldeisen of Davidson, NC, J. Steven (Lisa) Waldeisen of Charlestown, RI, and Wendy L. (John) Hooper of Hillsgrove; sister, Eleanor Graefe of New Hampshire; six grandchildren, John (Ralitza), Kathryn, Katelyn (Chris), Kara (Zane), Victoria (Danny), Nathaniel, and two great grandchildren, Nora and Thomas.
There will be a celebration of life service announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gatehouse or to Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church, 142 Market Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
