Obituary

R. Frederick “Fred” Gilbert, 82, of Montoursville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family, after complications from a bicycle and truck accident.

He was born on August 23, 1939, in Lewistown, son of the late Dorsey and Ann (Hiller) Gilbert.

Fred retired from E. Keeler Company. He enjoyed playing bridge, going to the beach, watching baseball, boating, and spending time with his family and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sandy Weaver whom he married in 1961, enjoying 56 years of marriage until her passing, he is also preceded by his sister, Patricia Stopper.

He is survived by his son, Dean (Judith) Gilbert; daughter, Crystal (Dave) Miller; sister, Kay Dietrich; and six grandchildren, Kyle Gilbert, Ryan Gilbert, Allison Gilbert, Eric Gilbert, Isaac Miller, and Levi Miller.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 in Montoursville Cemetery with Rev. Larry L. Leland officiating. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Drive, Montoursville, PA 17754.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Dwell Orphan Care or Shepherd of the Streets.
