Roland L. “Ronnie” Dangle, 78, of Eldred Township, died September 4, 2020, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
He was born April 8, 1942, in Williamsport, a son of the late Melvin C. and Ruth (Stine) Dangle.
Roland was a 1960 graduate of Montoursville Area High School and afterwards served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2004, after 33 years of service, from Textron and was a UAW union mediator. He enjoyed golfing and played for Textron in the Industrial League, additionally he enjoyed hunting, belonging to Blessing Mountain Hunting Club, fishing, spending time on the river, bowling, having bowled a 300 game, horseshoes, Sudoku puzzles, playing in annual setback tournaments at the YMDC, where he was a member, and Friday night dinners with friends. He coached baseball and softball when his children were young and was a certified Little League umpire.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Nikki A. Young; a son, Matthew A. (Michele) Dangle, of Kenilworth, NJ; a daughter, Melissa A. (Tom) Wheeland, of Montoursville; two brothers, Dave (Pat) Dangle, of Cogan Station and William (Carolyn) Dangle, of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren, Madelyn, Mason, Noemi, Erik, Ashley, and Chase; and two fur babies, Charlie and Furby.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Warrensville with military honors accorded by the Lycoming County Korean War Veteran Honor Guard. There will be no visitation.
