On the morning of Thursday, March 25 Thomas Charles Ott loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 75, at his residence.
Tom was born on August 7, 1945 in Muncy, PA to Howard and Esther Ott.
He was a 1963 graduate of Muncy High School. He received his Business degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1968, while in college, Tom was a three-sport athlete, playing baseball, football, and wrestling. He was a three-time NAIA All-American, inducted into UW-Stout’s Hall fame, the West Branch Hall of Fame, and the Muncy HS Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985. He worked for Muncy Homes, ConChemCo, and FTCA as school principal and was the long-time store manager at Baxter Plumbing in Hughesville, retiring in 2019. On June 18, 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon (Sherry) Baxter.
While living in Montoursville, they raised 2 sons, Thomas (Diane) and Jamie (Natalina), and one unforgettable daughter, Melissa (Aaron). He was also the proud grandfather of Cameron, Nolan, Logan, Nando and Luciana.
A loving man who was generous, and quick witted and always had a good story from days gone by. His sense of direction and memory were incredible - especially if it related to a sporting event or location. He enjoyed much of his recreation life with his brothers and cousins hunting, fishing and playing ball until he had kids of his own to enjoy it with.
Tom was a long-time member of Trinity Assembly of God church in Montoursville serving many years as a deacon. Beyond family and faith his biggest passion was sports, a long time Dodgers, Rams and Lakers fan, he never rooted for them as much as his favorite athletes: his children and grandchildren. From the dugout as coach, to the stands as their biggest fan he could be seen all over the state, region and even nation watching them play the sport of the season.
He was preceded in death by his brother Howard (Virginia) and sister Jean (Ben).
Surviving are his wife; two sons; daughter; sister, Peggy (Dennis) and two brothers, Ron (MaryAnn) and Ed (Sue) as well as his large extended family.
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, 11:45 a.m. in Twin Hills Memorial Park with Pastor Stephen Fulkes officiating.
There will be a walk-through viewing on Tuesday, 10-11:00 a.m., at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, PA 17754.
