William “Chip” E. Johns, 91, of Plunkett’s Creek Township, passed away on July 25, 2020, at his residence.
He was born August 19, 1928, in Wellsboro, son of the late William D. and Gertrude (Eaton) Johns.
Chip is a World War II and Korean Army veteran. He retired as superintendent of Montoursville Cemetery and then worked as a courier for Woodlands Bank. He enjoyed photography, especially nature, wildlife, and photographing butterflies and bald eagles. He also loved woodworking and working in his wood shop.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former R. Marietta Woolever; brothers, Norman and Harry “Butch.”
He is survived by his three sons, Edward C. (Deb) Johns, of Plunkett’s Creek Township, Glenn W. Johns, of Plunkett’s Creek Township, Douglas B. (Lainey), of Milford, NJ; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
