William A. Young, 78, of Hughesville, passed away on August 6, 2020, at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport.
He was born on February 13, 1942, in Farragut, a son of the late Archie and Lois (Pepperman) Young.
He graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1960 and then from Lycoming College in 1965. He taught biology at Williamsport and Montoursville High School. He then continued his career as an estimator for LCD. He is a former member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, and a past master of the John F. Laedlein Lodge 707 F. & A.M for 50 years as well as the Williamsport Consistory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and kayaking.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Shepherd Young.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Ruth Mueseler; son, Gregory A. (Denise) Young, of Carlisle, PA; two daughters, Jennifer Y. (James) Lacey, of Horseheads, NY, Barbara E. Young, of Hughesville; three brothers, James (Charm) Young, John (Connie) Young, Edwin (Merlene) Young, all of Montoursville; and three grandchildren, Rowan, Walden Young and Sarah Lacey.
At William’s request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E 3rd St, Williamsport, PA 17701.
